Chancellor George Osborne reiterated in his latest budget the importance of Britain's roads in order to boost productivity right across the UK. The main focus for this was the interlinking roadways in the north of the country. This lead to the chancellor green lighting a four-lane M62, with plans to develop a tunnel from Manchester to Sheffield. This will also extend to the A66 and A69, in order to upgrade both.

A plan is also in place to ensure that Britain is at the forefront in connected and self-driving vehicles. With a strategy in place to test autonomous vehicles by 2017. Obviously this has a certain amount of red tape attached and this will be focused on in parliament in the coming months.

This will also mean an increase of spending to infrastructure in order to make this happen. One of the striking actions that a lot of road users will be please to hear is the introduction of a £50m pothole action fund. This will enable local councils fill nearly a million potholes.

Initial reaction to the budget from infrastructure authorities has been positive. With all at Meon excited for the projects that are attached with such plans. The Spectrum brand offers a productive answer to all surface markings and givesdynamic answers, productive results.
